WE CHECK IN WITH ONE OF THE ORIGINAL PLUG GIRLS, KIM! AFTER AN ENVIABLE YEAR OF TRAVELING, SHE HAS RETURNED TO HER OLD STOMPING GROUND… How does it feel to be back? Overall, it’s great to be back. I adore the PLUG vibe, and it’s even more fun now that the team is so much bigger (it’s grown by 300% in the year I’ve been gone!). We’ve added some really cool clients to our already awesome client list, and I’m looking forward to a year of crazy, fun events.   Of course, I still have wanderlust, and at the back of my mind I’m potting how I can make the most of my leave to continue to see as much of the world as I can! More accurately, eat as many different cuisines as I can!   What’s changed the most at the Plug office? What’s crazy is how familiar it all feels, but it’s definitely different. The biggest change is the team – just as awesome, but 3 times as many people! And we have a token boy now, which is fantastic. We also appear to be breeding stock for our various clients – every time I turn around we have several more boxes of awesome products that I want to spend my hard earned salary on! It’s the only downside to the job …   How did you spend your time away? My goal was to spend quality time with as many relatives and close friends that I could afford to (financially and time wise!). I drove down a large chunk of the east coast of Australia; had my wedding in Malaysia; visited LA, SF and NYC in the US; and then settled down in Oxford with my Dad for 5 months. From there, my husband (that still feels weird!) and I travelled around the UK and Europe visiting various friends and family. We were also involved in three very cool destination weddings – Montenegro (for Mama Plug!), Tuscany and Highclere Castle (otherwise known as Downton Abbey!).   Highlight of your trip? Hands down, Sweden. I have a close friend who invited us there to visit him and his family, and they really made our trip memorable. His parents were incredibly hospitable, invited us to their summer house in the Swedish Archipelagoes, cooked traditional Swedish meals for us, even taught us Swedish drinking songs!   What are you most looking forward to in 2014? I’ve made two New Year’s resolutions, which I’m looking forward to keeping! The first is to explore my creative side, because I’d love to be artistically talented and I’m really really not. I’ve asked a friend to give me weekly art classes, which I’m loving.   My second resolution is to get back into yoga, with the goal of being able to teach. I am certified to teach yoga already, but my practice has been so patchy in the past 10 years that I really don’t feel confident. OH, and I really want to be able to do a handstand, so that’s what I’m excited about.   Incase it’s not obvious, I’m a reasonably excitable person, so I think I’m looking forward to whatever 2014 has to offer :)
