PLUG EVENT: Nespresso launches their new Spring Limited Edition Grands Crus coffees from two exotic regions – Lake Kivu of Rwanda and Chipas of Mexico. To celebrate this, PLUG PR invited media to a decadent lunch at Popsy Modern Kitchen, where they indulged in a coffee-infused menu and a gourmet coffee tasting led by the Coffee Ambassador of Nespresso Hong Kong.

The venue was beautifully decorated in a floral theme that resembled the two new Grand Cru designs, and a gallery zone was displayed to tell the unique story behind each coffee community. Inspired by the different cultures of Rwanda and Mexico, PLUG PR also created a colouring book for this launch exclusively for Nespresso Club Members where they can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and be transported to the heart of these communities behind their cup of Nespresso.

NEW CLIENT: Plug is very excited to announce that we will be handling public relations for Hong Kong’s first ever Nikkei restaurant, El Mercado.

Founded by Bart Szyniec, former Restaurant Manager at Aqua Restaurant Group, El Mercado serves up mouth-watering Nikkei dishes, which infuse traditional Peruvian delights with Japanese flavours and techniques. El Mercado, which is Spanish for “The Market”, takes its design inspiration from Peru’s marketplaces and Lima’s vibrant cantinas. The restaurant seats 54 in a relaxed and inviting setting where friends and family can meet up to enjoy great tasting dishes.

Nikkei originated as a homemade cuisine, masterminded by Japanese immigrants trying to recreate dishes they ate back home, and is now evolving into a new genre. This new cuisine, whilst not yet strictly defined (some Nikkei food is Peruvian with Japanese influences, while some is Japanese with Peruvian influences) has been gaining much international recognition in culinary hubs from Lima, to London, to Hong Kong and beyond.
