SUCCESS STORY: PARA’KITO™

PARA’KITO™ is a natural product that helps protect against mosquitos using a unique blend of essential oils. The brand has been in Hong Kong for some time and has enjoyed success with a range of wearable bands and clips.

THE TASK:

Help drive sales by generating awareness for mosquito season and positioning the new PARA’KITO™ suite of natural mosquito products as aspirational, non-toxic and fashionable solution for Summer ’14.

THE CHALLENGE:

PARA’KITO™ is a brand health media know well and had supported the previous summer. PARA’KITO™ was keen to evolve and expand their PR story beyond health and enter the lifestyle and fashion arena – as well as promoting two all new products (a targeted roll-on and a bite relief). Not an easy task – Mosquitos and fashionable, aspirational lifestyles aren’t a quite a natural pairing!

PLUG IN ACTION:

Plug shared PARA’KITO™ with the city’s in-the-know Naturalites (agenda setters with a natural approach). The team crafted a stylish and natural celebration pack for the brand: The PARA’KITO™ Summer Survival Guide.

THE RESULTS:

Plug secured over 30 PR stories and powerful personal social media endorsements from editors. Our PARA’KITO™ Summer Survival Guide was very effective, this Summer, PARA’KITO™ saw a sales increase of almost 20% from the previous summer!

Plug secured almost 200% YoY increase in media exposure over the summer compared to 2013.
